What’s it about?

This book is the latest in the Cormoran Strike detective series. It follows Robin and Cormoran as they work on their latest case for a distraught client. This client wants to identify a dismembered body that was found murdered inside a vault in a silver shop. She is sure it is the body of her dead lover- but is it?

What did it make me think about?

Who was murdered in the vault?

Should I read it?

Well, if you enjoy a good detective series, then this one should be on your list. J.K. Rowling (writing under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith) writes long, complicated plotlines with great characters. These books will take you awhile and they keep you guessing. They are all somewhat sordid, but page-turners. I always look forward to the next installment.

A passage I marked

"I need Lion to know his daddy only went away to try and fix things, and he never meant to leave us for good."
