What’s it about?
Armand Gamache is the head of homicide for the Surete, in Canada. In the nineteeenth episode of this popular whodunit series, we see Gamache take on a domestic terror situation. But will he figure out the plot in time?
What did it make me think about?
Of course, who is behind this threat?
Should I read it?
So, I have mentioned that I have been struggling to get through books this last couple of months. Why did I not turn to Louise Penny sooner? Her books are like comfort food- always enjoyable and easy to finish. All these novels take place in Three Pines and Penny herself said it best, “What Three Pines offered was comfort in an ever-changing world. It offered a place at the table, it offered company and acceptance. And croissants.” Who wouldn’t love to spend a little time in Three Pines? I would highly recommend any of Louise Penny's’ novels to just about any reader.
A passage I marked
“Because knowledge was power. Where some cops thought of their guns as their weapon, Chief Inspector Gamache knew the only real weapon, and protection, was knowledge.”
