What’s it about?

April and Leo's house burns up just as their marriage is going up in flames. But with two small children, they need to move forward in a civil way. So they move back in with April's parents while they decide what to do. This is a story about family.

What did it make me think about?

Time is always moving forward.

Should I read it?

This was just a good story about a family dealing with life's issues. Some passages really resonated, "Maybe need is different than I thought; maybe it's the avenue that lets us get close to each other..." I hope Sarah Damoff has a long and prolific career. Her stories are accessible to most readers, and both books so far have been easy reads with something to say. I am guessing that this novel will be a popular book club pick this year.

A passage I marked

" A life together is forged in ten thousand choices."
